A dog owner is given a citation for having a vicious dog after his dog bit a small child.



Police ticketed a dog owner Thursday after his pet bit a 6-year-old child around the ear and neck. This is the second time this dog has bitten a small child. Watch out kids the third time is a charm.

The Ticonderoga County school system closes The Eatery on State Street



The Eatery, where special-education students came during the school day to work and learn about the food-service industry, will close at the end of this school year. The move will be good for the school system and for the students because the school system will save $20,000 to $50,000 a year and the students will still be given the same level of instruction but at other facilities.

An older man dies of a heart attack after witnessing a car accident.

John Barker,59, died of a heart attack today after an automobile crashed through the front window of the restaurant where he was dining. Barker was taken to Memorial Hospital when he complained of chest pains moments after then accident.

A baseball coach is forced to retire after winning season.

After Ticonderoga County High School won 177 during Coach Ricky Rust 12 years of coaching, Rust is trying to find the bright side of being forced to resign. Since Rust helped the school win district tournaments six times the new coach must be feeling the pressure. 

Officials seek to keep the Ten Commandments mounted in the Ticonderoga County Courthouse.

Attorneys representing the county were unsuccessful in convincing the U.S. District Judge that Midville attorney had no standing to sue over the display because he is not even a resident or regular user.  The county should not worry because Midville’s will pay the price in hell someday.

New hotel in Elizabeth City needs approval of the city’s residents.

Residents will vote to decide if Elizabeth City will use public funds to build a new hotel and convention center on the June 5 ballot. This referendum may be hard to pass because the city commission member approved an ordinance to prohibit any public funding for a hotel shortly aft the petition was certified.
